It is still very early to be sure, but this rumor just might be the real date for the most expected Canon product this year, the one and only 5D Mark III. The rumor guys have placed all their bets on february 28th as the D day
The specs have not changed in quite a while now:
- 22Mp Full Frame CMOS Sensor
- 61 points AF
- 6,9 fps
According to the same rumors, the product should reach stores by the end of march or early april.
Canon Rumors stated that Masaya Maeda, a Canon representative, said this about the megapixel count expected for the 5D III: “although he cannot leak information about un-announced product, the way Canon develops new product is to satisfy the needs of professional photographers. For instance, the introduction of EOS-1D X is to satisfy professional photographers to photoshoot sports events like the Olympics, in terms of their requirement of high FPS and high image quality under high ISO settings. If Canon thinks the market wants the high resolution models such as the 30+ MP of Nikon’s D800, they can easily develop such products…“
Canon fans all over have interpreted this claim as a clear indication that Canon has already began to develop this product. Can it be? Time will thell
