Today Nikon has announced an upgrade to its picture hosting service, “my Picturetown”.
It is a free service (up to 2Gb) to all internet users, regardless of owning any Nikon equipment. Paying users get up to 200Gb.
What’s new:
- greater collaboration with Facebook
- handles Nikon’s Motion Snapshots (picture + some seconds of HD video)
- protect albums shared via Facebook or email with a password
- set permissions for downloading photos from shared albums
- set permissions for downloading photos at their original size
- Links to shared albums can also be posted to Twitter or sent via e-mail
- New design templates for shared albums
- Facebook app (an application that allows users to view photos and shared albums posted to Facebook)
