I’ll help: the camera used to take these pictures is no ordinary DSLR. It is a PENCIL. Yep, you’ve read it right, these are paintings. Amazing, isn’t it?
The artist is Paul Madden a Scottish artist and his art is called Hyperrealism or, in his own words, his creations “intensify the normal.” There is much more to it than simply replicating a photograph or video still, Cadden creates a softer and more complex focus on the subject depicted.
He said on an interview that he started very young, as an escape from his surroundings. “The first thing I remember drawing over and over again was a toy tank; even something so destructive had become beautiful in my mind.”
His website is a necessary stop by to get astonished by his art galleries. Also don’t miss his interview.
