Australian photographer Mark Tipple knows surfing very well. He then decided to portray this realm below the waves on a very visually compelling project called The Underwater Project, within many years around the beaches of Australia.
He says that “when I started, the press was more interested on celebrity shots and drama stories. I was interested in promoting humanitarian works, but that was very difficult. So I decided to follow my old passion for surf and sea, hoping it would help sell my other pictures”. His surf pictures achieved such a success that he ended up dedicating himself to this kind of work.
His next goal is to join two passions by connecting his work to NGOs promoting marine life conservation.
