Nikon has issued a recall for some EN-EL15 batteries, the model used in D700, D800, D800E and V1 cameras. The reason behind that is an overheating possibility, even though I could not find one complaint about this online, but they found it in production tests.
The way to find if your battery needs to be replaced is simple, if the 9th digit of the lot number is E or F, you should replace it.
