Well, I did NOT see this coming. After FB bought Instagram for $1 billion, I imagined some integration and probably the release of a native FB app based on the acquisition. That was not the way for Zuckerberg’s team, they have just released an iPhone App to edit and share pictures.
Despite not being Instagram, several features are very similar like basic edits and filters. On the filters section, things are way better than on Instagram only making names more logic. Or you can actually say you understand filter names like Valencia, Sutro and Brennen really do? Many filters still give that retro-vintage-old-crappy-nasty look that I absolutely dislike, but many users seem to love and flood the web with it.
Other improvements are – as it should be expected – a better interface with Facebook, allowing users to upload several pictures at once, navigate through friends photos and a max res of whopping 2048X2048, according to The New York Times.
Although I did not imagine the app not being Instagram, I have trouble understanding what took them so long to finally develop this. The app is not avaliable for all countries so you might have to wait.
