Brazilian and South American Canonistas REJOICE!
Canon has just announced the company’s plans to begin producing digital cameras in Brazil, through the establishment of a factory in Manaus, Amazonas.
The 110 million yen investment (aprox RS2.8million or US$1.4million) should result on a 1,800 square meters factory and hire 60 employees by 2013.
Despite all those interesting facts, the news all of us want to read is how this will affect camera prices and availability in Brazil and all the Latin America region. Can we expect Canon prices to go down, competition to go up and overall market prices to drop? I would expect it!
