@ Lee Jeffries |
British photographer Lee Jeffries started out as a sports photographer. According to his own words one stolen picture from a homeless girl changed his life, leading him to start a very nice series of photos from homeless people from Europe and North America.
The moment that changed his career as a photographer was when he took a picture of a homeless young girl in a sleeping bag. She noticed him and his first reaction was to flee the scene, but instead they talked and this completely changed his perception about the homeless and they became the fuel to his art. “I made an effort to learn to get to know each of the subjects before asking their permission to do their portrait”.

At first the idea of his project is fantastic, but we´ve heard other works on that path. But for me Lee´s work is amazing and rises way above the crowd for his spectacular usage of light and for the expressions he gets, which combined with the black and white pictures add to a lot of emotion and drama. You can see more photos e know more about the artist at his 500pix page.
If you find this interesting, you might also check another interesting photo project portraying homeless, but this is in Bronx, NY.
This was seen on the always excellent The Hypeness.
