Óbidos is a medieval city in Portugal, completely enclosed by high stone walls that date as far back as 1100. Narrow streets, small traditional houses and a really diverse architecture that features Arab, Roman, Gothic, Visigothic and other influences. This fantastic place is one of the country’s top tourist attractions, considered one of Portugal’s 7 Wonders. You should not miss a visit, shall you have some downtime in those whereabouts.
Despite being so iconic and charming, the real beauty can only be contemplated from above. When you fly over the city you can fully understand the defensive structure that used to protect the villagers from local and foreign attackers, with the bonus gorgeous view from the lands around bathed by the sunset light. Truly amazing experience that makes me humble for having the chance to be there and enjoy this special day with the dear friend Marcelo Barbosa and his *much better* half 😉
