Grüetzi Galera!
Yesterday we had another great and fun chat about photography, life and so much more. It is always a pleasure to meet such nice people and share some good moments, even if we still need to do it from afar.
On our Tuesday Photo CHat we had some time to catch-up and then we started with our proposed agenda. You can see/download the PDF presented during the meeting and watch the full recording on Facebook and Youtube (upload coming soon).
News
Sue Bryce Education extended the grace period for two more days (update: it is now over). As I mentioned before, she has one impressive training library and it was all free to watch during a selected time.
Our friend Ed is evolving his “Automagic” tagging solution fast, he should soon have more openings to test the app. If you are interested, you can fill the form on this page and you can (re)watch his presentation in a previous Tuesday Photo CHat.
Now you can subscribe to the Blog and make sure you don’t miss any news, invites, events and CHallenges. It is very easy and NO SPAM, promise. Just fill your info on the column to the right
New Activities and Assignments
We will keep our secondary assignments going. That is different from the Photo CHallenges, it will last more time and the concept is to post images from our collective view from the isolation days and self-portraits during quarantine, like this gorgeous image posted by Helena.
The Tuesday Photo CHat will continue to happen weekly and I am really happy to have cool people with whom I can share and learn together. I already look forward to the next meeting! As always you can find more information and RSVP on Facebook, MeetUp and on the Blog.
Next week we will have some photo critiques: you present us with a photo that you’ve made or that you wish to discuss, we will analyze it as a group, trying to find what we like and what could be improved. Photos and time will be limited (some are already taken!), reserve your spot by sending me a message with your image(s).

Instagram Hack: post and write/read messages from a computer
I shared with the group a simple little trick I found by accident while updating my website. With this easy hack, you can safely and legally post to Instagram from your computer, no need to send the files to a mobile, copy hashtags and all the work. The summary with photos is on the presentation and can be seen in the full meeting video (on Facebook or Youtube) or on this excerpt with only this trick.
Photo Challenge #3: Final
And we made it another time! So many contributed with gorgeous images and we had the chance to vote to select the preferred among the 15 best according to the popular vote.
It was tight, Kurt and Stephanie had images fighting for the pole position, but in the end, Rê Autran took the highest place on the podium. Her image was gorgeous, powerful and captured the essence of the theme: Isolation. Even better, she made the photo specifically for the CHallenge.
Congratulations Renata, you have CHF 150 in credits to whatever I offer in the studio including classes, studio sessions, personal photographer and all else.
Photo Challenge #4: Theme/Launch
As we are having so much fun with this, let’s go again! Photo CHallenge #4 starts today with small differences:
- It will last 3 weeks
- Posting and commenting will be immediately open
- Voting will open in the last week
- The final image will be selected by the online voting during one Tuesday Photo CHat.
This time we have a double theme, you can post images relating to either concept or both, you are free to do it as it makes you happy ?:
FREE
Theme 1
HAPPY
Theme 2
You can submit images and comment on the contest’s gallery page.
As always, by participating you agree to the boring but necessary rules.
Improvements
If you have suggestions or would like to point something we could do better (or not at all) please send a message to feedback(a)CHaya.photo. You can also participate in our very tiny little quick one-minute survey and help me tailor the meetings as best as I can.
Bis Bald!
I would like to thank all who participated and wish you all a great one, whatever you are doing. We are almost at the finish line, take a deep breath, soon we will move on!
See you all next time!
