Next Photowalk
As many participants from our group are enjoying some vacation time we decided to do a smaller one around Zürich and push the meeting with models at Rote Fabrik to the end of August.
You can find all the details in our main Meetup Group and see the photos from the previous one on Facebook.
Photo-World Freebies and Knowledge
Every week we gather the most interesting videos, tips, ideas and whatever catches our attention around the www. This week:
- 10:17 Free Photoshop Actions by the Guru Unmesh Dinda.
- 11:22 A ‘peculiar’ Ring Light review by Fstoppers.
- 18:57 Catchlight on portraits – a deep review by Joe Edelman.
- 20:25 A great comparison on how to best sharpen your photos by PHLEARN.
- 23:06 Some misconceptions about Studio Lighting on Karl Taylor’s Channel.
- 34:56 Free Courses on CreativeLive, including content from the amazing Sue Bryce.
- 35:52 Great photos and inspiration by the winners of the WPO 2020.
Photo Processing Software Alternatives
On our previous CHats we’ve discussed a lot about #Adobe #Lightroom and #CaptureOne, alongside some alternatives like the AI-Powered bundle from #Topaz Labs. (you can get 15% discount if you follow this link).
This time we started to learn about another software that uses AI, the impressive #Luminar 4 from Skylum. It uses ‘the brains’ from your computer to improve your photos very quickly and effective, achieving impressive results.
Remi also told us about his mostly positive experience with Luminar and added the great results he achieved using another software from the company, Aurora HDR. He will demo the self-entitled “world’s most advanced HDR photo editor” to us in another Tuesday Photo CHat. Will it live up to the promise?
How to Optimize Adobe Lightroom’s Performance
On a geeky part of our chat we talked about measures anyone could take to improve Lightroom’s speed (or lack of it…). It is techy but there are step-by-step instructions and links on the PDF and many of the suggestions might improve your computer, not only reduce the lags and waits for the spot healing tool.
Improvement topics
- Hardware
- Software
- Operating system
- Lightroom
- Catalog Settings
- Super secret tip to edit faster than ever
