Despite an uncertain weather forecast, this month’s photo walk in Zurich turned out to be a resounding success. Models and photographers braved the elements and were rewarded with an incredible evening surrounded by beautiful industrial scenery.
An Unexpected Twist
The day started with a hint of skepticism as the weather forecast showed rather intense signs of rain. The unpredictable predictions of the weather “foul-cast” scared away most of the almost 57 photographers on the events list. The brave survivors went ahead with the photo walk, gathered at the meeting point, and during the initial meet and greet, the skies opened up, pouring down torrential rain. Not even the Swiss monsoon could hold us back! 😂
The Weather Gods Smile Upon Us
As the brave participants embarked on the photo swim, heavy rain was still pouring on us. Just as the Swissly precise time to start the photo walk came, the rain ceased and the weather became our ally. The wet surfaces and reflective streets turned out to be a boon, adding an artistic touch to our photographs. Mother Nature seemed to be collaborating with us, creating a perfect setting for our photography endeavors, including providing a rainbow for us to play with.
Adaptable Shutters
While the original plan was to walk alongside the Viadukt, we adapted to the weather conditions and looked for shelter under the Hardstrasse. Kurt – a long-time member and our “Google for models” – had a brilliant idea to explore the rooftop of a nearby parking building, which proved to be a stroke of genius, providing us with stunning angles and a mesmerizing view of the city in the background. The shy sunlight even made an appearance, casting a warm, golden glow on our lovely city.
Models and Memories
We were fortunate to have the presence of many amazing and gorgeous models who brought life and character to our shots. For the photographers who participated, detailed contacts of the models will be provided via email, offering a chance for further collaboration in the future. But do not forget your commitment to them and send your best photos treated with an extra layer of love, otherwise, you already know, you will buy us dinner! 😉
