The Tscharner photo studio has one more attraction.
“The Bluebox”! As the name suggests, this self-made square cube, crafted from sturdy plywood, features vibrant blue walls, making it an ideal backdrop for all your creative shoots.
Measuring 2 meters in height and 1.8 meters in width, The Bluebox provides ample space for solo portraits, couples, and even small group photoshoots. Its minimalist design serves as a blank canvas, allowing you to experiment with various lighting techniques, props, and poses to create truly one-of-a-kind images.
The Bluebox has an open-top design, with no roof, providing you with even more creative possibilities. This feature allows you to easily hang props, decorations, or lighting equipment directly above the shooting area to achieve your desired effects.
What sets The Bluebox apart from other backdrops is its versatility. The solid blue color can be easily incorporated into your shots to create a stunning contrast, or you can simply use it as a chroma key background for digital manipulation. The possibilities are endless, and we can’t wait to see what you come up with!
“Vibrant Colors and Effortless Elegance: Showcasing The Bluebox’s Versatility with Model Ronja’s Captivating Photoshoot”
Daniel Tscharner
We recently had an opportunity to put The Bluebox to the test during an exciting photoshoot with the talented model, Ronja. Allow us to walk you through the experience to showcase how versatile and inspiring this new attraction can be.
On this day, we had the pleasure of welcoming model Ronja as a guest. For the shooting in the Bluebox, Ronja wore pink tights and a pink body. Ronja was lying on a luminous yellow air mattress, and we photographed her in front of the blue walls.
The colors of the clothes and the mattress stand out perfectly against the blue wall and create an excellent contrast. Ronja’s relaxed and self-confident demeanour makes the shoot a real pleasure.
The camera of choice was the Fujifilm GFX 100S, which delivers excellent image quality with its large sensor. To optimally illuminate the model, we used a 1 meter Rotalux softbox with an Elinchrom ELB400 light engine. In addition, we used grids to minimize flare and focus even more on the model. The combination of softbox, light generator and grids created a harmonious lighting atmosphere and made a significant contribution to the success of the shoot.
After the shoot, the photos were developed in CaptureOne and corrected in Photoshop. Colors and contrast could be optimized, and minor flaws retouched. The final processing gave the images the finishing touches and ensured an impressive result.
“The Bluebox” is therefore not only a special backdrop for creative photo shoots but also a place where we can perfect our craft and live out our passion for photography.
